Barbara has been Director of Research and Development at leading fabric manufacturers Para s.pa. since 2008. She has a Degree in Industrial Chemistry at the University of Genoa and has extensive experience throughout her career in new product developments, technical support and quality management.

She is a member of the ES-SO Technical committee representing the Italian association Assotende and is a member of the team that developed and manages the ES-SDA database.

She is also a member of the CEN technical committee WG3/TG5 working to improve standards for the shading industry
