      Hi luc thanks for the reply. So is it basically saying its more of a problem because you have to think about its benefits in the winter but also the suns negatives in the summer? I just wanted to clarify. Thanks in advance.

      Hi Thomas, you’re right about the solar gain when days are short and the temperature is low, then solar gain is an opportunity by letting the sun in!
      However during summer at high temperature ir has to be avoid for the well known reason

      I have a question. Why is lower angle sun in the winter more problematic? I though it has a purpose of creating solar gain in the winter months to provide free heat?

      the sun is higher in the summer times and lower in the winter times.
      the sun is a star
